AMOS: Hi! I’m Amos, better known as fasterthanlime: I make articles and videos about how computers work, in a way that would’ve hopefully blown the mind of a younger me.

JAMES: And I’m James, consultant at OneVariable, where I spend a lot of time working with Rust, embedded systems, and convincing computers to talk to each other.

AMOS: Self-Directed Research Podcast is our challenge to give each other 20-minute presentations for half an hour every week.

JAMES: Since we both work with the Rust programming language, we usually end up comparing notes, showing each other a bit of cursed code, and dreaming of a world where open-source is well-funded.

AMOS: Our domains of expertise are different enough that we ask each other questions that you, the listener, may ask yourself while listening to either of us ramble about this week’s special interest.

JAMES: So join us for your weekly dose of Self-Directed Research!
